Our mission is to defeat hunger and define hope.
The East Mountain Food Pantry provides for the hunger needs of families living in the East Mountains of Albuquerque.
NEW PROCEDURE DUE TO CORONA VIRUS OUTBREAK
To prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, and keep our clients and employees healthy, we are making additional changes to our operations. We will continue to adjust our procedures as things change.
Clients will be prevented from entering the food pantry. We are asking clients to park, and wait in their cars. A volunteer will come out and give you a number. The volunteer will fill out your shopping list when your number comes up
We are also going back to the old hours of operation. (see below to the right)
Thank you for your patience during this outbreak.
The East Mountain Food Pantry’s mission is to DEFEAT HUNGER AND DEFINE HOPE.
Hunger can be found where you least expect it. There are over 600 families throughout the East Mountains requesting our help each year; families who must make decisions on whether to pay rent or eat for a few days. Families with low-wage workers, children, seniors on fixed incomes, people with health issues, grandparents raising grandchildren. The number of families needing help continues to rise.
Having outgrown the small building graciously provided to us by the First Baptist Church since 1989, we recently purchased a larger building, thanks to an anonymous benefactor’s generous donation. We look forward to the opportunities this gives us to better serve our community.
Through your generous donations and our partnership with Road Runner Food Bank we can DEFEAT HUNGER AND DEFINE HOPE in the East Mountains.
East Mountain Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and equal opportunity provider.
SUPPORT THE PANTRY
We have grown!
Since we have moved to the new location, we are serving close to twice as many families as at the old location. Because of that, we need more room for food. The Pantry has limited storage space and no longer has room or resources to manage non-food donations. So we are having to restrict donations to food for people only.
How to help
The East Mountain Food Pantry relies on your donations of cash, and food. Bring your donations to the pantry during our normal hours of operation.
We are always in need of fresh (can be from your garden), frozen, canned, dried, boxed, or packaged food items.
We are usually running low on staples like peanut butter, jelly, rice or beans, pasta, spaghetti sauce, Mac & cheese, soup, crackers, dried/canned milk, and cereal.
Donate Baby Food and Formula
We are always in need of Baby items like baby food and formula.
Boxes and Bags
We also need empty medium-size boxes and grocery bags in which to put items for our clients.
